As a business owner, you already know your time is your biggest asset, so outsourcing certain tasks will become inevitable as your business grows. Perhaps then it’s sensible to think about proactively outsourcing early doors, rather than waiting to relinquish control until you have no other choice. It could just free up the time you need to catapult your business to success much sooner!

I get it, your business is your baby, and it can be hard to give responsibility to someone else when you could just do it all yourself. But, humour me, and let’s consider the ways outsourcing your social media management could grow your business?

  • Make social media a priority

As social media experts who have spoken to many business owners over the years, one thing that is clear to us is that social media is one of the first things to fall by the wayside when the business owner gets busy. Social media is often seen as a ‘nice to have’, rather than a must-have.

It’s easy to underestimate just how key social media can be in terms of marketing your product or service, because the truth is: A well-rounded, strategic social media plan can really help support and drive your company’s success.

By outsourcing your social media management, you can rest easy knowing that someone is keeping your accounts running with fresh, mindful, and regular content, as well as engaging with customers and followers whilst you can focus your undivided attention on growing your business.

  • Mindful content sharing

We’ve all been there: It gets to the end of the day and you realise you haven’t posted on social media in days, or weeks! You know you should, so you chuck a post up with a quick caption that you don’t even have time to proof-read, before moving on to the next task. Your comments section is open for your followers, but with nobody checking and responding your audience ends up feeling neglected and ignored, and therefore disengaged.

A social media manager will spend time creating a content plan and schedule posts well in advance so your accounts are regularly being updated with relevant, high-quality content that your followers want to see. The posts will be optimised with hashtags, calls to action and anything else that will help the visibility of your content in the right people’s feeds.

A social media manager will also spend time engaging with your followers who comment or DM with questions and feedback, helping to grow a high quality audience who become loyal to your brand through the relationship they build through your various platforms.

  • No strings attached

As we mentioned earlier, your business is your baby. You care about it and its success, which will naturally carry with it a lot of emotion.

If you’ve ever found yourself getting a bit TOO emotionally invested in comments or reviews of your business, it could be a really healthy decision to take a step back and put that task into the hands of someone a little less emotionally invested in the business, but who still has the business’s best interests at heart!

Perhaps you’re also the kind of business owner who finds they are spending too much time focusing on their social media presence, whilst other areas that really need attention get neglected? This is another great example of when a social media manager could be a sensible and time-saving investment in growing your business.

  • Does social media need you, or does it just need someone?

Ultimately, as a business owner, you need to understand where your business needs you, and where it just needs ‘someone’. The places in which it just needs someone, are the areas in which you should consider investing to pay someone else to focus on these tasks so they are completed whilst you focus on the bigger details that will help scale your business to grow and thrive.

The hardest thing will be making the decision to let go, but once you do, you’ll be amazed at how much your business flourishes. If someone else can do it, it shouldn’t be on your CEO priority list, as a rule!
