Phab Kids

I am very proud to have been working with the great charity Phab. Over the last two years, I have run the London Marathon for them, helping them raise much-needed funds. Phab inspires and supports children, young people and adults of all abilities to make more of life together. They do this through a network of over 170 local clubs across England and Wales and their annual Phabkids programme of exciting residential projects at fully accessible outdoor activity centres. This year they are celebrating 60 years of Phab.

2017

I had to defer my London Marathon place to next year due to illness, but I was lucky enough to attend Phab’s after race celebration, where all their runners met for a shower, massage and a cup of tea. It was great meeting so many people that had been on such inspiring journeys, from life-threatening illnesses, trauma, loss of family members, it certainly helps put things into perspective. Take a look at some of the Phab runners on their facebook page

The image on this post is me with Anita Dobson, yes, Angie from East Enders no less. Anita is Phab’s club president and what a lovely lady. She greeted every runner as they finished had pictures. The Phab team really did look after the runners once they had finished and I think for most the high five or the hug was a massive pat on the back after a tough 26.2 miles.

London Marathon

Over the next year, I will be training and be racing to raise money for Phab. Next up for me is the Swansea ½ Marathon in June. Then finishing with the London Marathon on 22nd April 2018, running in the famous Phab vest, I can’t wait. If you would like to follow my journey and maybe even sponsor me, you can do that via JustGiving or follow my running on Twitter @Caleruns
