2020 was a year that none of us will forget! All of our lives were radically changed beyond anything we could have imagined in the space of a few weeks, and these restrictions have lasted far longer than any of us could have predicted; but with the announcement that life will slowly but surely return to normal in 2021, it’s time to think about how you can help your business recover after a tumultuous ride.
In this blog we’ll be sharing the top reasons why social media will play a big part in the return to ‘normal’ for your business:
Update customers with important information
One of the biggest things people will be looking for from your social media is clear information on your new opening times, the capacity in which you’re operating and how they can access your product or service. Make sure to regularly update your customers with this information and display it prominently in pinned posts, in your bio, and in saved highlights for easy retrieval.
With each step in the ease of lockdown you should let your audience know what has changed (or what hasn’t if the case may be), and what the next expected steps will be.
We know it’s been hard this past year to share any sort of plan, but we are all hopeful this easing of restrictions will stick!
Reassure your audience
After a year of staying at home, it’s natural that many people in your audience may be feeling anxious about the return to regular life without restrictions, this is why it’s very important to make sure you take time to reassure your customers that their safety and wellbeing, as well as the wellbeing of your staff are cared for.
Let your audience know what kind of precautions you are taking, including regular sanitisation, any protective equipment used such as visors, masks or screens, one-way systems or limited numbers of patrons in your premises.
This kind of information will put your customer’s mind at ease and they’ll feel more comfortable returning to you if they know what to expect in advance.
Build excitement
We know you’re just itching to see your staff, customers and visitors again. You can’t wait to open those doors and see who comes in to say hello or to purchase from you. Share this excitement with your audience!
Tell them just how much you look forward to seeing them again; it’ll help them know how valued and appreciated they are, which will encourage them to revisit your business sooner rather than later once restrictions are lifted. Maybe you could even run a social media offer where the first people to visit you will get a discount or free gift. This is almost like a second chance to launch your business!
